Dampp-Chaser Piano Life Saver systems require regular maintenance, specifically replacing humidifier pads (or “filters”) one to two times per year to ensure optimal performance. These pads, along with a tank liner and pad treatment, prevent mineral buildup and maintain consistent 42% humidity to protect wooden components.

• Replacement Pads: Should be replaced every 6–12 months, or when the red light on the humidistat flashes.
• Pad Treatment: A specialized liquid (e.g., 16 oz bottle) added to the water to prevent mineral buildup and reduce rust.
• Tank Liner: A plastic liner placed in the humidifier tank to keep it clean.
• Watering Can: A specific, narrow-spouted, 1/2-inch diameter container for adding water through the system’s fill tube.
